2018 saw the Ulster Youth Orchestra celebrate its 25th anniversary and to do so they embarked on a tour to Vienna and Bratislava with a new commission from me!
UYO Manager Paula Klein writes:
"The annual residential course will commence on 14th August 2018 at Greenmount Agricultural College, Antrim followed by a tour to Vienna and Bratislava with the finale concert in the Ulster Hall, Belfast on 25th August. Players will have the opportunity to receive tuition from some of the UK and Ireland’s finest orchestral musicians on rep including Berstein – Overture to Candide, Debussy – Rhpasody for Clarinet and Orchestra featuring UYO alumnus William Curran, Gershwin – An American in Paris, a new commission by Irish composer Ryan Molloy and Harty – Children of Lir featuring renonwed soprano Aoife Miskelly all under the baton of Belfast Born conductor Courtney Lewis."
